Land Grab Issues

Land grabbing is a prevalent problem for investors and buyers of properties, particularly in the Valencia region of Spain.

In this region, a law relating to the classification of land prevents owners of rural land reclassified for urbanisation from standing in the way of developments benefiting the community. It even requires landowners to contribute towards utilities and other infrastructure and/or to give land over to developers.

This law has been exploited in some areas by developers and local authorities against the interest of the property and landowners, leading to actions being taken against developers by the affected landowner.

Land grab issues, in any country, can affect both investors owning a property and those attempting to purchase property on this type of land.  Judicare is widely experienced in this area and has successfully tackled many land grab cases worldwide.
